Why Ships?
I can hear a lot of people asking this question in their heads. It's a bit hard to describe the relationship that some of us who work in the maritime industry have with it but I will try. The act of designing, building, and sailing ships, to me, seems like one one of the largest endeavors that mankind departs on on a regular basis. While we have in the past journey to the moon, every day, thousands of tons of cargo are moved about our own world, getting there on time through gale and tempest. Ships are hands down the largest man made vehicles and we regularly drive them about. If you think about it, Maresk lines new Triple-E class ships are 400 meters long, roughly the size of the Empire State building on its side. And we sit on its back and drive it around, that's just cool.
